Ella Jungle Resort is surrounded by pristine jungles, bubbling mountain springs and gushing streams. Abundant with a variety of flora and fauna, Ella is nestled on the banks of Kirindi Oya River which meanders through
six miles to the south of Ella village, and is at peace with a breathtaking terrain of tropical rain forest, majestic peaks and rushing waterfalls.

Ella Jungle Resort, opened at the turn of the century, will entice those seeking both the solitude or an unspoiled jungle setting or the chance to indulge in a range of challenging outdoor activities. The cosseted or faint-hearted should look elsewhere. Outdoor lovers will enjoy the simplicity of the comfortable yet rustic accommodation. Standard and deluxe rooms are scattered around the main resort area, in 12 acres of tropical forest. Across the Ella-Wellaweya road, the Ella Jungle Resort stretches over another 38 acres. Here there are also eco lodges, jungle cabins and camp sites in the valley below, a 20-minute trek through jungle.

Accommodation

16 chalets, including one tree house, were largely constructed with local materials and blend into this most natural of outdoor settings, so much so that you sense you are living alone in the forest. All possess shower and h/c water. The restaurant serves Sri Lankan and Western dishes. The emphasis is on outdoor living and indoor communal areas, such as bars or lounges, are limited. Camping facilities (with toilets) for up to 200 people.

Eco Jungle Chalet

There are 16 chalets, these spacious rooms, featuring a private balcony with a view of the rushing river, are perfect for honeymooners or couples looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city lights for a romantic getaway. Room Include private bathroom facilities, solid timber flooring and full-length glass walls with draping. You and your partner can wake up to the sound of the rushing river as the morning light trickles through your 4-poster bed which is draped with mosquito netting.

Eco Jungle Cottage

There are 6 Chalets. Each Eco Chalets has 2 rooms. One on the upper and one on the ground floor. All chalets are based on double sharing and can be converted to triple sharing on request. Your chalet features a balcony overlooking the river, covered by glass and fitted with parquet flooring, mosquito net seating. Rooms come with a shared toilet and shared bathroom with full shower facilities.

Eco Jungle Cabin

There are 6 rooms available and each eco chalets has 2 rooms on the upper and ground floor. All rooms are on a double sharing basis and can be converted to a triple sharing basis on request. Your room has a balcony overlooking the river. Open to the environment, rooms are comfy and fitted with parquet flooring, a mosquito net and a seating area. Standard rooms come with a shared toilet and a shared bathroom with full shower facilities.
